Back in May 2018, I joined my best friend and her family on a trip to Florida! We were in the Sunshine State for just two weeks, visiting the Disney and Universal Parks, along with the Kennedy Space Centre.
It was scorching every day, until the tropical storms arrived on the second week. On a couple of occasions, it rained all day, every day but a majority of the time the sun was beaming with occasional torrential shower; leaving you absolutely drenched through. Luckily it was warm enough to dry off quickly. However, we didn’t let the rain dampen our spirits (pardon the pun!) and bought some very flattering colourful ponchos to keep us dry but they just ended creating endless condensation and sticking too us through humidity. Lovely..!
Our trip to the Kennedy Space Centre was a dream. I have a low-key obsession with space exploration so I couldn’t wait to visit the centre and to learn there was a rocket launch that same day; I honestly couldn’t contain my excitement. However, it was too good to be true. You read my experience here – Houston, We Have A Problem.
Towards the end of our trip, we took a visit just outside Kissimmee, to Boggy Creek for an airboat adventure. I was looking forward to gliding across the water, searching for alligators; but in reality, as soon as we picked up some speed, you could feel multiple insects hitting your face at 45 mph and your eyes are watering so much, you can’t see a thing but it was worth it for the experience! Boggy Creek also offers a couple of activities and a authentic Native America village replica, which is a living museum teaching you how tribes survived living on the swamps.
I had a blast during my 2 weeks in Orlando. I ticked a few things off my bucket list, had so many hilarious moments and came home with unforgettable memories!
