Take a minute to evaluate the happiness in your life and you will realise what you think your happiness depends on.
A mistake we often make is to always look elsewhere. Our relationships, friendships, work, belongings – we tend to search every other aspect in our lives and before even considering the one person that actually matters. You.
You create your own happiness. Once we have realised how we do this, we can begin to live.
What do you truly love to do? What do you believe in?
Over the last few months, I’ve had some ups and downs, making 2017 a year of mixed feelings. I allowed myself to be swallowed up into depending on a relationship and when it all fell apart, I felt lost.
I took me a long time to realise that it was just not meant to be; then, I, was not only over the negativity but I realised that it was completely okay to be alone.
From that moment, I felt more at peace with myself than ever before. I accepted my flaws, worked out what I liked about myself, and what I would like to change/work towards and started focusing on becoming a better version of myself.
How we view ourselves is far more valuable to how others view us and there is far much more to life than trying to impress people, who in reality, don’t actually care.
You are the only one who knows you. The only one that has to live with yourself 24 hours, 7 days a week and you are the only one that will be most proud once you have reached the goals you set. So, don’t let anyone tell you what is best for you.
Be comfortable with spending time on your own. Use the time to relax and discover who you are.
Focus on the things you love.
Let go on the negativity.
Find happiness in yourself.
