Gorge Wildlife Park, Adelaide

On my first day in Adelaide, we took a family trip to Gorge Wildlife Park. One thing we all wanted to do was hold a Koala, and considering this was their first time in Australia, they didn’t want to miss the opportunity.

We took a 45 minutes scenic drive out of the city centre and through the Adelaide Hills before arriving.

The Gorge Wildlife Park opened in 1965 and is still operated by the same family. Situated on 14 acres of land, it is among one of the largest privately owned collection of Australian and exotic animals, birds and reptiles in the country.

The park offers you an up close and personal experience with wildlife, which is exactly what we were looking for.

We walked amongst kangaroos and wallabies, held koalas and fed the resident camels. All for $17.00, you can’t beat it!
