Located in Eastern Australia, in the state of New South Wales and only 20 minutes away from Sydney, you will find Bare Island.
The beautiful island and fort are connected to La Perouse by a footbridge. The historic military fort and tunnels was built in 1885 to protect and reduce attack in a possible Russian invasion.
The fort can only be accessed during guided tours, which range from $15 for adults and $10 for children (family tickets are available), but the surroundings are completely free for an explore around.
The transparent warm waters and Australia’s colourful marine life make this location very popular with scuba divers and snorkelers.
Bare Island was also a film location for Mission Impossible 2. Click here to watch the scene!
