Quick Guide: How to Take Sparkler Photos

This year I thought I would try attempting sparkler photos and I’m pretty pleased with the results. I’ve put together a quick guide on how to do it yourself, enjoy!

HOW YOU CAN DO IT TOO

You will need;

Tripod
Camera
Sparklers

Set you camera to a low ISO (I set mine on 800), then set you camera on a low shutter speed (around half a second).

For an orange tint to the person, set you White Balance to ‘Shade’
For a colour not so vibrant, set your White Balance to ‘Auto’

Place your camera on the tripod, set the settings above and start practicing!

TIPS

Keep the person in front of the camera as still as possible. This will help you get a sharper look.

Try and keep the person spinning the sparkler fast, this will help you get the complete circle.

Give it a go!
